Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Oryen is a private space for your mind. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. This document is a template and not legal advice — please have it reviewed by a qualified professional before relying on it.
What we collect
We collect the email and password you use to create an account (passwords are stored only as a secure bcrypt hash, never in plain text). We store the content you create in Oryen: your daily check-ins, Mind Inbox items, weekly reflections, and AI Coach conversations. We also store billing identifiers provided by our payment processor.
How your content is used
Your check-ins, inbox, reflections and chats are used to power your experience — to show your trends and to give your AI coach the context it needs to respond personally to you. Relevant excerpts of your content are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) solely to generate insights and coach responses for you. Your weekly reflections are stored privately and are never altered.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your private journal content for advertising. We do not share your content with other users.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details; Stripe handles them under its own security standards.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can request export or deletion of your data at any time by contacting support; deleting your account removes your content from our database.
Security
All routes are protected by authentication, you can only access your own data, passwords are hashed with bcrypt, and API keys are stored as server-side environment variables that are never exposed to the browser.
